Expect Periodic Traffic Delays March 28 - April 28 due to Rumble Strip Installation on San Luis Bay Dr. & Avila Beach Dr.

The San Luis Obispo Dept. of Public Works will begin construction on the installation of Centerline Rumble Strips on select roads located throughout the County including:

1.  San Luis Bay Drive - from Avila Beach Drive to Northbound 101 Ramps

2.  Avila Beach Drive - Eastern end of bridge to Diablo Driveway & from Shell Beach Road to San Luis Street

Construction is expected to start on March 28 and scheduled to be completed by April 28, 2016.  The work includes signage, striping removal, grinding of rumble strips and re-striping.  Rumble strips have been shown to reduce the number of head-on and side-swipe collisions by providing drivers who may have crossed over the centerline with audible & tactile warning.
For the safety of the public and the workers, a minimum of one-lane of traffic will be opened to the public with approximately 15 minute delays possible.

For more information please contact:
Michael Boyce - Resident Engineer - 805-781-5264
